Did you get a photo ticket for making a right-hand turn from westbound Kent Des Moines Road onto Pacific Highway? Don't feel bad, you have lots and lots of company. According to annual reports published by the Des Moines Police Department, from 2017 - 2020 more than 62,000 photo infractions were issued for that particular turn. Think about that. More than 62,000. They haven't published their 2021 figures yet. Probably too embarrassed to do so.

I received a letter saying “notice of overdue parking violation & overdue photo enforcement”. I have never received any notice of any violation in the mail from the city of Des Moines until now and it’s threatening my account to be referred to a collection agency. I can’t look at my violation details/pictures online either - it’s only giving me a payment option. They never answer their phones, they website is junk, and there’s hidden “service fees”. This is nothing different from a scam, terrible customer service, terrible everything. They leave you ko option but to pay. ridiculous.

Got a ticket in the mail from a red light. Tried to pay it online but their system couldn't find my ticket.... then I got another notice in the mail along with a late fee. Please fix your system, or get rid of late fees.

I was also charged $11 to pay my ticket by phone... so another fee on top of the ticket and late fee. What a disappointing system.

at 1:30 PM Friday afternoon, there is no one to pick the phone.... at the Building Department. I called the "Court", and someone picked up and they said that probably the building department had turned their phones off after lunch hour!!! She said she can go down and see if anyone was there, then said good bye and hung up! They are supposed to be there from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday!!! Who is the manager over there and what is he/she managing?

I’d give a zero if I could. How do you have an answering service, but no one ever picks up the phone. I called 13 times in a row just to be hung up on. I called before lunch and after to no avail. How can people handle business if you don’t answer?
